Some advice for the journey...

Quelques conseils...

Before the  adventure

The goal is simple: collect as many challenges for you to complete from your friends and family. They can also challenge you while you’re already on the road.

Make a profile for your team on this website so that people can create challenges for you!

Pendant l'aventure

This adventure is all yours! Walking, biking, hitchhiking, you can decide how you want to get to Belgrade. The journey takes places between the 1st  and 31st of July and you’re entirely free to chose when you start and when you arrive in Belgrade.

If you wish to start from a different point than Brussels, no worries. You can just let us know by including this in your application and we’ll transfer that information onto your team page.

Finally, this project was designed for teams of two but nothing is stopping you to undertake this journey solo or with more than two. Do as you please!

The only rule: don’t spend money on transport.

Once you’re on the road, our team will contact you on a regular basis to check in. This way we can keep track of your progress and the realization of your challenges.

In case of accident or illness, we cannot provide repatriation. If you’re part of a health fund, you should be covered everywhere in the European Union. Some health funds or insurances also cover Serbia but please inform yourself before departure. In case you aren’t covered by your health fund, you can get an additional travel insurance. We can recommend you some insurance agencies.

The arrival

César, our contact at the Odyssey Project, will be happy to make you feel at home and show you the secrets of Belgrade. If you wish and if possible, César would be more than happy to host you in his apartment as well. Otherwise we can recommend you some nice hostels in the area. The entire team of the Odyssey Project is really looking forward to meeting all of you !

 Getting back home

The return of the teams home is not included in the organization of this journey. Nevertheless we can help you with finding a suitable ticket.

- One way tickets from Belgrade to Brussels will be around 70 to 150 euros with AirSerbia

- Tui (formerly Jetair) has a connection from Sarajevo to Charleroi with flights around 100 euros

- On www.kiwi.com you can look up flights with a radius search on your departure and arrival. Busses and trains in the Balkans are easy to use and it might be cheaper to leave from another airport, for example Tuzla (in Bosnia), Timisoara (Romania) and Budapest (Hungary) for about 30 euros.

If you need any information on transport (bus and train) within the Balkans, don´t hesitate to contact us!
