HIT THE ROAD AND TAKE UP THE CHALLENGE
SECOND EDITION PLANNED FOR 2018
STAY TUNED
Welcome to the Road of Challenges, an amazing journey across cultures and borders this July!
SECOND EDITION PLANNED FOR 2018
STAY TUNED
The concept is really simple:
Adventurers of every kind are aiming to reach Belgrade without spending any money on transport to show their support for an incredible project. Biking, hitchhiking, catching a boat or helicopter... everything is allowed!
This journey has two aims: on the one hand, to have a splendid time full of fun and adventure; and on the other, collecting money for the Odyssey Project, a documentary that traces the route of refugees into Europe.
Along the way, teams will have to fulfill challenges given to them by friends, family and acquaintances. For every challenge fulfilled, a chosen donation is made by the challenger to the Odyssey Project.
This event is entirely realised by several volunteers, get to know us here.
Are you ready for the journey ?
The Road of Challenges
The Road of Challenges wants to collect money for the Odyssey Project.
The Odyssey Project, the latest initiative of Refugee Aid Serbia (RAS), is a documentary following three humanitarian aid workers as they trace one of the main migration routes into Europe, from Turkey to Brussels, the heart of the European Union. Whilst there are more refugees and displaced people now than at any other time on record, public and media discourse is often apathetic, misguided or even hostile.
We want to interrupt this trend, by bringing the migrant crisis back into the public eye in a dignified light.
Throughout the journey, they will be stopping off at key transit points and engaging the local population and refugee communities through “Routes” festivals, based on similar events we have piloted in Serbia. These festivals aim to bring together local communities and the local refugee populations through workshops, discussions and performances. We want to offer a chance for interaction, but also a day of recreation on what is often a perilous journey for refugees.
The documentary is also an opportunity to interview people about the refugee crisis. Once completed, this documentary will be shown at film festivals across Europe.
The Road of Challenges takes the opposite route, from Brussels to Belgrade. It’s an opportunity for European youngsters to realize how privileged we are to be able to cross European borders so easily.
